Nov. 3, 2008 - Around The World Gala Raises Over $33,000
The Children’s Foundation of Guelph and
‘Escape to the Emerald Isle’ was held at the Italian Canadian Club on Saturday November 1, 2008. Guests enjoyed an Irish inspired dinner and entertainment by the Triple Cut Dancers and Celtic band WhirlyGig. Over $30,000 of prizes were given away to lucky attendees. One feature of the evening was the presentation of the Children’s Foundation annual awards. Guelph Hydro was recognized as the Community Champion for its long time support of the Foundation including their generous yearly participation in the Adopt-A-Family Program. The Adopt-A-Family Team was recognized as Volunteer of the Year for their dedication to providing brighter holiday experiences to families in need. Corporate Supporter of the Year was awarded to Paul Tribe of Uniglobe Discover Travel for his support of the Around the World Gala through a donation of over $18,000 in trips in the three years of the event.
