Volunteer Now

The Children’s Foundation is dedicated to ensuring that your donation dollars are directed to the children we serve, instead of administrative costs. As such, our volunteers and community advocates play an enormous role in the success of The Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington.

We are always on the lookout for people who can share their time and talents to ensure our special fundraising events are professionally presented and fun for all participants.

CURRENT VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

They are in need of volunteers for a variety of tasks prior to the event and days of the event. You can come for a 4- hour stretch or all day. Check their web site at www.therace.ca . If you are interested, the volunteer form is online. It is always great fun.

Tuesday May 27th – ‘Fore Our Kids’ Charity Golf Tournament – a fundraising event to support the work of The Children’s Foundation. For this event, we need about 12 volunteers for a variety of tasks. Saturday November 1st – Around the World Gala–We need volunteers to help with registration, prize table set up, selling raffle tickets during the event and cleanup tasks. If you are interested, please call the office for more details.

November/December – we run the Adopt A Family program whereby we match families who need help at Christmas with community donors to get Christmas gifts for the family. We are currently looking for 2 more individuals who can offer a BIG time commitment to help manage this program. Training will be provided. Work will begin on this project over the next few months to prepare the brochure, letter, forms etc. that go to the donors and social workers. The AAF packages are sent out early October. In November, the referrals come in and the matching begins. There is need for data input at that time as well. At the end of November, we move to the site where the wrapping will occur. We need wrappers almost every day prior to Christmas for a few hours in the daytime as well as a few evenings. For more information, or if you think you can help, please contact the office.
